Lax-A-Past is a paste for cats to prevent them from getting hairballs, or to relieve them of hairballs. Lax-a-past is an animal feed supplement based on malt syrup, white vaseline, glycerin and chicken liver. Cats often lick their coat to remove old hairs, clean themselves or when they are stressed. These hairs build up in the gastrointestinal tract of cats. This build up of hairs can cause constipation, which is why it needs to be removed. By giving the cat this paste for a couple of subsequent days, either through the food or by giving it as a snack, the hairs leave the body with the stools.
